Practical information on SX versus Stamp speeds: The SX in turbo mode runs 1-for-1 so a 20MHz clock means you're running 20 MIPs.  The Stamp, on the other hand, has to fetch and decode a token from its EEPROM -- this process takes about 100-150 microseconds; in that time the SX running at 20 MHz can run 2000 to 3000 instructions.
