I'm trying to build 2D Cartesian robot.=A0 I want to make it out of widely = available, inexpensive parts.=A0 I've got the electronics mostly worked out= , but now I'm down to building the actual frame for the system.=A0 I want t= o use aluminum H channel extrusion for the rails because it is sturdy, chea= p, and widely available (http://www.mcmaster.com/#4558t11/=3Ddx0ie).=A0 = What I'm looking for is either a place to buy slide blocks or bearings for = H channels or an idea on how to make them.=A0 I'd turn the "H" on it's side= so that it is an "I" channel, and I'd want the bearing to hold both sides = of the middle of the I and the top of it, but leave the bottom free for mou= nting holes/bolts. So far the best idea I have uses three skateboard bearings per slide block,= one on the top and one in each side of the "I", and always use at least tw= o slide blocks mounted on a rigid frame.=A0 I don't like this solution, and= I can't help thinking there must be a better way.
