Hi all. Well, another week, another 1000 emails behind, and another project tossed at me at the last minute. Here's the latest. I've been asked to help with muting a microphone via footswitch. Here's the longer story. The microphone in question is balanced and has an impedance of 1K ohm. While I could do this mechanically that would result in a loud pop each time the switch changes position. So I'm thinking perhaps a 4066 CMOS switch to make/break both mic lines simultaneously. I'm not super concerned about this being really hifi audio. I am slightly concerned about leaving the audio input "floating" when the switches are open. Any thoughts? Thanks!
