Hi, The problem I found with Java was the interface to an external device do to its platform independent nature. So much so that I have changed to using Delphi instead. Saying that if I used a Ethernet to RS232 adaptor then it probably would be very easy, but I have not explored that route. Simone, if you found a feasible way to communicate via usb/RS232 using Java I would love to hear how you are doing it. I have looked at RXTX package but was not convinced. I have absolutely no experience with Java apps so I have not put any effort into that approach. Java, being a popular language, is something I really should learn but have not yet. I can code in VB but never spent any time creating activex controls. It may be easier for me to learn to create activex controls and make my own, not sure yet! Thanks for the info and the link. -- Regards, Stephen D.
