We're considering releasing schematics for some of our tools, and I thought I'd ask you guys what you think about it. I'm a bit torn about this issue, because on one hand, the schematics went through several design changes over the years, incorporating some non-obvious but nonetheless significant changes that would be directly useful to a competitor. On the other hand, with a little effort the board can be reverse-engineered, and there may be a benefit to the hobbyist-type user who wants to tinker with the circuit. Was your purchasing decision ever affected by the availability of schematics? Was there a time when you didn't buy something because schematics weren't available?
