Hang on, I am getting confused here. Does your calibrated multimeter have a 
temperature range on it, that uses a thermocouple, but reads directly in 
temperature? If so I would suggest that it is probably sufficiently accurate 
for what you want. If needing to double check it then a melting block of ice 
is probably sufficient.
