There are at least two aspects to C#: the language itself, and its use in common scenarios (which is mostly about how to use the language and the supporting libraries in the way they were intended to be used). With my background (relevant here are C++ and Java, as C# has similarities to both), C# Essentials from O'Reilly got me started quickly.
