Remember that I am just learning and assembly is rather cryptic to me still. I do speak binary and hexadecimal, however, and I can carry a reasonable conversation in octal. :-) I haven't touched on banking in my studies yet. The whole point of my example many messages back was to try and understand an alternative to the TRIS statement. So many tutorials state that TRIS is obsolete, higher level chips do not support it at all, and Microchip may decide to drop its recognition at any time. YET - all these tutorials continue to use it despite the warnings. I was just trying to gain an understanding on an alternative. Keep up the constructive criticism, Olin. It makes me want to try harder. :-) Joe -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
