I have a carputer with an interior webcam pointed out my back window to see
the trailer hitch.  It has so much glare from the window that it is really
difficult to see out.  I would also be interested in a cheap webcam if it
was able to handle the elements, I'd mount it as an exterior camera for
backup & trailer hitch.

The closest I have found is on All Electronics (Surplus) but it is $55 and
only has composite output (I really wanted USB)

I was thinking similar thoughts, my plan was to put a bunch of cheap USB 
webcams around the place and link it up to a "carputer"
