Googling is not the be all and end all of learning how to do something, but it seems intrinsic to the modern way of "researching". I'd go out on a limb and suggest that the Google generation has a lot of their thinking and figuring out done for them and those skills are being lost Learning PICs properly is like anything else. Start at the bottom and work up.
