But not impossible. Many of us started with micros and electronics
before Google was even born. Googling is not the be all and end all
of learning how to do something, but it seems intrinsic to the modern
way of "researching". I'd go out on a limb and suggest that the Google
generation has a lot of their thinking and figuring out done for them
and those skills are being lost

Learning PICs properly is like anything else. Start at the bottom and
work up. Even if it takes all day to discover for yourself how PortA
works surely that MUST be more valuable than a Copy/Paste which
you don't understand
