It only has limited success in building automation. Wireless Hart's success is also uncertain. I guess it will be more successful than Zigbee as there are many backers. There are also things like Industrial WiFi which has limited success in monitoring applications (SCADA, RTU, etc). 2G/3G wireless are also used. Normally the underlined data protocol is still proprietary.
