I do use a combination in one application. An existing 4-20mA pressure
transducer is read by a 12F675 and transmitted using slow Manchester
to the main processor 50m away. Ideally the costly, 4-20mA transducer
would be replaced with a simpler device but, meh, it's already there

Comments have certainly made me take a look at current industrial
technologies and where I'm falling behind, thanks
