The SX does not start up, or run the program with the MCLR tied to Vdd via a 10K resistor and the SX-key plugged in. Unplug the SX-key, and the program starts up. Plug the key back in, and remove the 10K resistor and replace it with a wire, and the SX starts up as well. Attached is a schematic of my circuit. 'Port4' is were the SX key gets plugged in.
