You're not using a PC with an ATI/AMD chipset, are you? The SB-series southbridges (or at least anything SB600 and earlier) have major issues with USB High Speed mode. Try and use any USB2 High Speed peripheral at the full USB2HS speed, and you can just about guarantee a hard crash (i.e. get the biro out... you'll need it to push the reset switch). It's a chipset bug, AMD won't admit it, and it frags just about every external USB hard drive I've used. I've had to add an eSATA port to the PVR just so I can connect one of my three external hard drives up to transfer files. No such issues with the NVIDIA 780i southbridge on the desktop, or the Intel chipsets in the two laptops... -- Phil. piclist@philpem.me.uk http://www.philpem.me.uk/ -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
