A fairly amazing 'mouse hover to enable' collection of route maps for the world's budget airlines. Worth alook just for the diversity and display method, even if you don't want to risk your life with these cheapies (and want to risk it while spending more with the big boys). http://www.bestflights.com.au/ns/flights/specials/low_cost_carriers/jq.php#routes Selecting an airline shows you a map with their destination cities marked. Then hovering on city dot shows all relevant routes. I had no idea that most of these existed. Be sure to check out the world's largest international airline (based on annual intercountry flights flown) - none other than Ryan Air. A real experience to fly with. Their safety record seems OK - which is will seem utterly amazing if you have ever flown with them. Regrettably it doesn't seem to show any purely internal Chinese airlines (many of which fly greater disatnces and/or larger aircraft than eg Ryan Air does) but they have a number of Asian airlines which enter China or are even mostly active within China - none of whom I'd heard of. (Transasia airways, Hongkong Air). Some such as "One two Go" & "Mango" are purely internal (and tiny) and are on their list so I don't know why the Chinese carriers aren't.
