Per my Maytag service manual, 680 RPM maximum, and it looks in the pictures like the pulley ratio for the V-belt is about 1/4 or 1/3. Then with a common 1800 RPM motor, would be close. The motor is 1/2 Hp. And yes significant G's are generated.It's possible for the 300 or so lb. unit to walk off a raised platform if the 4 feet are not solid on the floor.
