Yes, definitely. I can say that with more confidence now because
powering the coils cleans their outputs considerably. The signal
quality at the cathode of the BAT46 is pretty good and could be
analysed quite reliably in s/w

I was hoping to do some screenshots of the oscilloscope today to
show the signal's progress
