Why does it make perfect sense for existing customers of PICC to go with PICC18? HiTech is clearly selling a new different compiler. Why should quality automatically transfer from one product to another? It has no real track record and it obviously has a different code generator and optimiser. How many releases of PICC have there been over the years, how many bug fixes? A new compiler is going to have it's own set of new bugs just like any other piece of new software.
