I suspect many others do the same thing I do, which is usually to ignore
links in messages unless they are in direct answer to a question I asked.
If I ask a question, and therefore am the one asking for a favor, it's OK to
be answered "go look here".

However, I'm generally not going to follow links by people too lazy to
distill the small amount of information relevant to a discussion into the
message, and certainly not if it's just part of a pissing contest.
