I'm trying to build an SMPS in low volume (read 1-10 units). I don't want to use an off-the-shelf solution for a number of reasons that I'd rather not get into. I'm looking for a transformer which can handle 400V @ (2A avg, 2.5A peak) on the primary side and 12V@(25A avg, 32A peak). Total power transfer is 300W. Turns ratio between 15:1 and 25:1. Permeability must be ~300, so a gapped core is necessary. Operating frequency must be >= 700kHz (1MHz prefered) I don't know where to look for such a beast. I've been through digikey and mouser with no luck, I've tried google and I'm out of ideas. I don't mind winding my own transformers for the volumes I'm doing, but then I need a source of cores which can handle that frequency and power. I also need to know if there are any special considerations for winding 1MHz transformers. Any ideas on sources would be greatly appreciated.
