We only use MPLAB 7.4. Later versions are unstable when running
ICD2. I know, I know, nobody else seems to have a problem but us (we
run late-model Dell XPs). This problem MIGHT have been fixed in later
MPLAB versions. But we can't use them.

No, we don't use a method of version control, but would like to.
