I've never used one either, but in my research, it seems that most people get some speed increase, but more importantly, they get a lot more accuracy placing smaller parts, over hand/tweezer placement. I'm not aware of any person who can hand place 0201's reliably. However, for the cost of some of these manual/semi-auto PnP machines, a used automatic PnP machine is far more bang for the buck, if there's any level of production. If just doing prototypes/one-offs, this manual/semi-auto type PnP machine is the way to go. Cheers, -Neil.
