We live in a small flat (106 square meter or 1141 square foot, costing about US$200,000) in a high rise building which is typical in this city state of about 4.8 million population. So we have limited space to keep things. The HP Jornada 565 (not 545) seems to run Linux but I prefer not to touch it as I do not have a serial cradle (only usb and it is faulty) and Linux does not seem to work well under it (no irda, no sound). And actually Pocket PC 2002 works very well and has a lot of software if I want to use it. http://handhelds.org/projects/jornada56x.html >> 6. Maybe I can use the WRT54G to learn embedded ARM Linux programming. So far I am more interested in learning bare metal ARM programming. I am still mostly interested in reviving the Dell Inspiron 600M. Last time when the motherboard was faulty back in 2004, I actually opened it before sending it back to Dell US from Singapore for repair. I bought it in US and it did not come with international warranty so I had to send it back to US for repair. When I get some time I might want to open it again to see if I can identify the faulty components on the motherboard (most likely the keyboard controller). It does not make sense to repair it though local Dell since it wanted to charge me SGD600 (US$400+) for the repair. I am still trying out some software method under XP but disabling the keyboard controller did not work.
