But thats just my opinion. Silabs may not be of too much interests to Microchip. Apparently Microchip is not interested in the RF side of Atmel, Silabs has significant business in RF (radio, etc). And Silabs' C8051F is good but normally very expensive. Atmel AVRs are cheaper and often has better spec than quite some PIC16/18.
