Why "fascism"? Doesn't seem to have much to do with subsidized loans. AIUI, Nate was talking about subsidized student loans. In a way, the idea if it is to make it possible for people to get an expensive education even when they couldn't afford it on their own, and everybody chips in a bit to make this possible. >From that angle, is it really that absurd to say that taking out $60k of credit for that really cool car may be a sign that this person didn't need (and therefore, in a way, doesn't deserve) the subsidized part of the student loan?
