>> There's no measure of creativity or determination really >> though, I think that is mainly what makes people successful in this way. >> Anybody can come up with a good idea, its putting in the hard yards to >> make it a viable product that makes the difference. > Indeed. Or lots of luck. :) You don't put a rocket like the Falcon 1 in orbit with only lots of luck. You MAY found something like Paypal (or Microsoft) on luck alone (how would I know? :-) ) but odds are it takes slightly more than that. >> Above average certainly, probably nothing spectacular though. I'd guess >> 120 mark. > How do you figure? I didn't posit that figure, but I'd suggest that if his role as "head designer" is not just a front then he has a reasonable IQ. 120 is enough. More would be useful in that sort of role. If that means hiring and using the guys & gals that do the actual technical design, then somewhat less than 120 would do. You can probably become a billionaire on an IQ of 100, but designing an orbital launcher takes a bit of rocket science. > How do you determine what a person's IQ is? If you recognise the validity of the concept, and if you consdier that assigning a figure is doable, then working out a test follows along behind :-). I tell people that I think I have an IQ about that of the current US President. I'm actually serious. I may be wrong. Despite the dumb things he does [tm] and the bad press he gets, he's not utterly dumb. Anon. >> afaik he is also the one behind the tesla roadster. That's dumb !!! :-) >> an "old" adage. >> How do you become a new space millionaire? >> Start of as an internet billionaire. > He's got money, now he wants glory. :) Or a chance to make a difference > while doing something "cool". There is a veruy very very substantial amount of money that MIGHT be made in 'Alt Space'. Finding out where it is and how to achieve it is a challenge. The path that he is taking is amongst the more successful so far BUT rather too close to 'more of the same' to be likely to make a radical difference. We'll see.
