There are different types and various degrees of outside dependency in various forms of investment and assets. I think this is obvious... If there is a severe crash in the financial and stock market, some assets may lose their value quickly and unrecoverably, while others go largely unaffected. Same for other events, like inflation. While there is only one economy in that it is all connected, there definitely are different types of assets (which is what the comment seems to be about, rather than economy).
