> So now they are being produced, I assume all this discussion > of the design is historical? Or is there ongoing improvement > happening? The recent overcharge discussion is NOT for a BOGO Light :-). The BOGO uses 3 cells, whereas the discussion was re a single cell, which makes life harder. Different product. Different client. Same factory. There has been a recent improvement in the circuit. This was due both to experience and because somebody made unapproved changes to make things easier for them to make (this is China after all) so the new design accomodates these changes and the improvements. Not much visible from outside. Turn off in light is now set at a lower level and is able to be easily changed during manufacture. Originally a very simple and cheap system was used but the light level cut off point was not adjustable. I've improved (hopefully) the over charge protection circuit and increased the headroom available for component value variations in the brightness control circuit. I've decreased the lowest task light light level to make it run for a long long time [tm] on a part charge. This allows you to have some sort of light under any weather conditions and when used as a pathlight/streetlight/night light it should run all night. It's now all SMD except for one TO92 part for thermal reasons. (A SOT89 would have done the job nicely but ..). > Now I'll have to order one for my girlfriend too, because her > favourite colour is orange... There's also pink.
