I agree that Bob Axtell seems to belong the lucky few. The situation seems to be not good even for non-financial sectors. And it has gone beyond the US borders and spilled over to other countries. And here in Asia we start to feel the pain already. Yesterday I was talking to my brother and he told me this year they will have no bonus even though he is the so called top performer in the company. And his business unit is doing quite well but the parent company (a relative big US public listed company with about 7000 employee and about US$1.5Billion annual revenue) is not doing that well. And back in China, the stock market has lost more than 50% of its value compared to last year. So something needs to be done by US and other government. How to do it? I do not know...
