Something, often high tech, that you want to have, not necessities in most of the cases. Often have the so called "cool factor". My brother worked for Creative Technology (parent company of US based Creative Labs). They tried to compete with Apple. Creative MP3 players had and some say still have better sound quality than Apple's iPod. By the way, the previous generation of squarish iPod Nano is really ugly. iPod Touch and iPhone are not bad, but iPhone does not even have FM. It is just something "cool" to me and not worth the money in my opinion. Here in Singapore, Sony has similar followings with many fans. I do not think Apple iPhone is that popular here. The 3G iPhone looks cheap IMHO, not as good as the previous one. And many people running Mac OS X computer is also running Windows XP as they do not have the programs under Mac (eg: MPLAB).
