Well, duh!  So if the compiler doesn't come with a library call to do what
you want, you're screwed?  Does this compiler have a special license that
prohibits you from thinking for yourself, accessing the PIC registers
directly, or even writing a subroutine or two in assembler if necessary?

If you can't handle low level stuff like this unless someone supplies it on
a silver platter, go back to Java programming on a large machine and leave
microcontrollers to someone else.
