But, you > know that. Agreed. The mitigating (but circumstantial!) evidence in this case is that the OP has complained that it takes 4.5 minutes to fill a 32kbyte device. If you have 32kbytes of data to write as quickly as possible, I struggle to think of a good reason not to use the page buffer.
