What do you think I need to learn more about EEPROM?
CCS Compiler I am using doesn't support page mode byte mode only.

That comes out to 8.2mS per byte.  That is plausible if you are doing
individual byte writes, but of course you should be doing page mode
writes.
That will make things much faster.

Or learn to use the EEPROM you have properly.
