Bob, My original Fuji charger is trickle charging 2100mA Fuji NiMH since three or four years. Acumulators have the same capacity like the first day I've took photos with this very old S5500 camera. And AFIK no temperature sensor inside. There aren't good rules for NiMh charging. Just rules. Some are matchable, some not with a hypothetical situation.
