Jason, Ask your wife/girlfriend/significant other (or all 3 :')) for a bottle of fingernail polish. you may want to get a bottle of fingernail polish remover too (or Acetone) to thin it out some if necessary, and for cleanup. It works very well. Subject: [EE] Solder mask touch-up? On a recent batch of PCBs I had made, a slight misalignment of the solder mask resulted in a few boards having an exposed trace - right underneath an 0603x4 resistor network, where it's quite likely to result in an invisible short. Is there something that I could perhaps paint over the trace, that would insulate it (only needs to withstand 12V), and would survive the heat of soldering? I'm aware that there are some commercial touch-up paints, however the smallest bottles they appear to be sold in are far more than I'd ever need, at a price that would make it more economical for me to simply discard the boards. I'm hoping that there is something more readily available (White-Out? Nail polish?) that is adequate for the job.
