I wonder if anywone could help me locate an older Cherry keyswitch? I acquired a specialized PIC keyboard but one key is broken. I have the keyswitch out and was sure that Jameco had them listed. Now I find that the only keyswitch that Cherry sells is their MX1 series. This one is bigger than that. It measures about 17mm tall (just the plastic to the bottom of the mounting ring/flange) and 14.5mm on each side with little latching dawgs on 2 sides and pc board pins. The pins are on one side and slightly offset. All that is on the keyswitch itself is Cherry and "G" so no part number. I tried searching ebay but what do you search for? Cherry got me every fake Cherry wood anything. Keyswitch got me locking switches that required a key. Keyboard got me every musical keyboard known to man along with some pc keyboards thrown in for good measure! This particular keyswitch looks like the ones that were used in a lot of keyboards in the early to mid 80's but I can not find a source and no part number to help me find a possible source. Would anyone on the list have one or two laying around they are willing to part with or have any idea who might still have one or two of those still laying around? I also need a keytop for it. If I had the keytop from this one I could possibly glue it back onto the shaft but the previous owner did not have the keytop ("P" in this case). Because it is a specialized keyboard I can not just abandon it and grab any old keyboard. Thank you.
