Each PIC has a unique ID in EEPROM. Either it can be put in at programming time, in which case I'll add it to the label, or it can be assigned by the network, meaning the network s/w will have to keep track of where they are. It's also possible, and probably likely to be added as a feature, that a general call on the network will make all the PICs respond with their ID. Perhaps each will respond 100ms * ID after the call, have to look at the timing at some point. Each station that the group of PICs is at has an IP address, so the network knows the physical location of a particular PIC is.
