My impression from pictures I've seen is that the display are large  
and very
dumb - great big electrodes that blink a simple pattern; bearing  
approximately
the same relationship to a useful e-ink display that those early "LCD  
opaquable windows" bear to a modern active matrix laptop panel.  A  
demo of E-ink without really demoing a e-ink "display."

I'd be happy to be wrong, of course...
