So Equire magazine is outfitting 100,000 of it's 720,000 september issue magazines with 2 E-Ink displays - one on the front cover displaying something eyecatching/informative/etc and one on the rear cover as a Ford advertisement. I was wondering if anyone had seen one in person yet. I'm curious to find out how they may have allocated them, and wondering if it's worthwhile scouring the local shopping centers, bookstores and newstands for them. The battery is estimated to last only 90 days (shipping of these from Mexico, where the batteries were hand inserted, was performed in a refrigerated truck), so there may be more available in November. I figure $6 for two E-Ink displays (though I expect them to be small, and difficult to work with) is worth it. Might not even have a seperate controller/driver from the micro displaying the message, which would make them very difficult to re-purpose. But it's worth investigating. Now if only E-Ink had a $6 demo kit... -Adam -- EARTH DAY 2008 Tuesday April 22 Save Money * Save Oil * Save Lives * Save the Planet http://www.driveslowly.org -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
