Actually with the new PIC32 and dsPIC33F, there might be a possibility for such a USB PIC development paltform with POTS interface.
This is actually a very interesting topic.
If you don't mind, we might want to change the tag from [AD] to [OT] or [PIC] or [EE] thereafter, so more people can see what's going on.
