Hear here... I also encourage the writing of a good guide on stepping up from PIC assembler to C or other higher level language. This is something I need to do myself, and have not yet begun looking around for advice on how to do so! For example, I now appreciate the skill required in writing or adapting low-level maths library functions, but knowing how to abstract this sort of process via a higher level language would be welcome.
