Hi Tony: I do offer what I am sure are workable solutions to many of the problems I address. With respect to eminent domain, for example, my solution is rescind it with the arguments and reasons for doing so. I am hesitant to post any of my political writings or programs on the list. I really prefer not to do so because it would be rather boring for many people. I think discussing generalities on the list is less likely to offend people than specific program action items and more likely to spark some interest and participation. As you have responded the concept of forced sterilization or allowing babies to starve to death, I could assume that your position is that these are the alternatives to abortion. However, I will not put those words in you mouth. But for the sake of casual colloquy let's suppose that someone actually says that abortion is the solution to eliminating forced sterilization or starving babies to death. Someone else would say that that is the fallacy of False Dilemma. That we need to take the dilemma by the horns (in the language of logic). One must offer another alternative that obviates the False Dilemma in order to resolve it. Someone else may say that the solution to abortion is effective voluntary birth control that does not impose sterility. And someone else my say that we could look at the nature and causes of the perceived need for abortion to discover alternative solutions to the procedure, which are widely accepted and voluntary. There are many ideas. Some are valid and some are not to varying degrees. However, it should be apparent by now that perhaps the problem of abortion extends beyond a social problem and includes political design. Such ideas as desiring to avoid the spectre of mass baby starvation or forced sterilization on a grand scale my have good or wholesome motivations, but I fail to see the effectiveness or logic in such arguments. I tend to believe that there are more social problems cause by the motivations of political activists than there are solutions provided by them. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tony Smith" To: "'Microcontroller discussion list - Public.'"
