Well like most things, the British Empire like the Roman Empire and others before it, left bad things and good things in its' wake. It behove's us to remember, that we are also judging the past with an eye to today's' way of thinking, which is always unfair on the past as of course in the future, our time will be judged against the standards of the day. There are especially in Africa and the Middle East major ramifications left over from the 'sea of red', but on the other hand many of those countries have benefited in some way, in fact a bit like Spike Milligans' part in Hitler's downfall, our own sticks (as in the ideas of so called democracy, institutions of state etc) were used to beat the Empirialism back.
