I did basically the same thing last year :) Not quite as nice as yours, but it did handle auto-importing from Digi-Key. I've been adding data-scrapers, but haven't managed to find a way around the PHP timeout issue (PHP times out and kills the script off after 30 seconds, which pretty much eliminates any chance of doing a significant amount of auto-import work). I'm working on an application version of the app at the moment -- same database schema (so the web-based system will still work) but a different application. The user interface is proving a little tricky to design, though. The application (and schema changes) add support for Linecards (distributor X stocks parts from A, B and C), alternative parts (LM314Z is equivalent to KA314Z, LM324M is similar to LT324AM but has slightly different parameters, etc). I'm also working on tracking parametric data, e.g. capacitance, resistance, supply voltage, component type, and so on. The data scrapers grab this automatically, but figuring out the measurement units and such is proving somewhat difficult, and it's not a high priority at the moment. I'm still open to working with other developers as long as they don't mind the final app being released under some form of open source licence :) -- Phil. piclist@philpem.me.uk http://www.philpem.me.uk/ -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
