I was going to say the same thing, but Olin beat me to the post. As for why he has 120VDC, obviously using DC power for his light bulbs in an off-grid solar power system. So how well do CFL work on DC? The PSU you already have will likely work. If it doesn't start up, you know it needs more than 120VDC internally. At worst, it will just blow the primary fuse since DCOK signal will never be asserted, so the computer won't come out of reset. I assume you looked at your monitor as well?
