Hi everybody I am looking for a ~ 400 Watt power supply for my computer that can work on 120V AC [grid] as well as on my 120V DC Battery Bank at my ranch! So far i have found only ones that were unpleasantly expensive and available only in far away markets... Apparently the specification 'full range' is common to distinguish from manual or automatic switching voltage modes, and that hopefully guarantees also that they may just have a regular bridge rectifier input stage (as most PS have in their high range) and a PWM Switcher / transformer that can handle the longer pulses needed and reaches the required voltage... Or can anybody think of some tricks that may be applicable to make any old PS work on 120V DC? -- Tobias Gogolin skype: moontogo You develop Sustainable Ranch Technology at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/SURA-TECH an Open Source Electric Motor/Alternator at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Performance_Axial_Flux and an Open Source Motor Controller at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GoBox -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
