Hi all

I've just picked up 3 Symbol Datacollection PDT6842 Barcode scanners

Seems that these were quite popular about 5 years ago or more but now are
superceded.

They are DR Dos based (as one seems to boot to dos eventually)

They come with wireless transmitters/routers ?

And a pile of batteries and chargers.

All good fun.

I bought them from trademe.co.nz and it seems that these ones were once
owned by tegel chicken (those here in nz will know them)

Anyhow - it seems that now Symbol are owned by Motorola all documentation
for these and any software or information is just lost/ditched/impossible to
find. I bought these cheap enough for my work not to be too concerned if I
can't interface them with anything useful for stock control for staff.
However it always gets you brownie points when you make something cheap work
well and improve the serious lack of efficency at my place of work.

Does anyone know more about these or have any useful info on them. 

I'm comfortable with fairly complex Dos things, linux no worries either etc
- but before I dive in and break things or delete precious data on these
that could be useful - I thought I'd do a little  homework first (that's a
first for me).
