Found this during my morning's browsing, and was immediately interested in participating - thought some of you might be interested as well: http://tgimboej.org/ It's a flat rate box (actually several are in circulation) filled with electronics junk and a small booklet of names. 1. Open box 2. Remove parts you want (blog about it or take pictures) 3. Add interesting parts you want to give away (blog about it or take pictures) 4. Check off your name in the book 5. Find someone else in the book, contact them to make sure they want it, will blog about it or post on flickr/elsewhere, and pass it on accordingly 6. Send box (within 2 weeks of receiving it) As it's a flat rate, the cost to ship it in the US is $9.80 (~12" x 3.25" x 13.5"). Might not be worth it, except as a tool to add more variety to your junk store and a fun way to connect to others with a similar interest. So I've added my name to the list, and perhaps I'll see one, but I'm also considering starting one (or more) as I have way too much interesting stuff (I follow a policy of throwing away ~50% of it each time I moved or re-organize my work area, and every time I bring something new in I have to remove an equivalent amount of stuff by volume and/or weight - so, what's left after a few moves and several years is neat, but I just have no projects for it at the moment) -Adam -- EARTH DAY 2008 Tuesday April 22 Save Money * Save Oil * Save Lives * Save the Planet http://www.driveslowly.org -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
