I strongly recommend a backup USB disk. Please backup everything C: and D: A trick that I use all the time is to boot the machine from the original Windows installation CD. After HALL, you=B4ll be asked for repair R. Please select that. Then a console will prompt the directory, usually "1", and the Admin pass. Then you have access to a lot of commands like chkdsk, format, mbrfix, help very handy...
