Jinx, One thought though, if you CD-boot using a NTFS friendly Linux distribution (probably most of them now), then you should be able to look at the disk and see any "super hidden" (from Windows) files that are suspiciously large. Of coarse, what you do with this information is up to you but the filename etc.may give you a bit more information for a web search on the problem.
